The Real Love Story of Zaynab and Abul-Aas

Zaynab was the oldest Muhammad’s daughter

Zaynab and Abul-Aas were cousins.

Abul-Aas went to Muhammad and said to him: I want to marry Zaynab.

Muhammad said to him: I have to take her permission first.

Muhammad went to Zaynab and said: O my daughter, your cousin Abul-Aas wants to marry you, would you like him to be your husband?

Zaynab’s face became shyly red; she smiled and said nothing.

Muhammad knew her answer; he smiled too and went out.

Abul-Aas married Zaynab; and a powerful love story began.

This marriage happened before Muhammad Prophethood.

They were very happily married and Zaynab gave birth to two children.

At this time, the Arabs were idolaters; they used to worship many statues made of stones.

Then all of a sudden, something unique happened.

Zaynab’s father announced that he is the last Prophet sent by Allah.

Muhammad’s wife Khadija, all of his daughters including Zaynab and his cousin Ali believed in him and embraced Islam without any hesitation; because they knew that Muhammad never ever said but the truth.

Then a serious problem began between the two happily married couple.

Abul-Aas was traveling, and when he returned back home, the leaders of his tribe (his father was one of them) met him and told him that his wife Zaynab belied their gods and she changed her religion and they warned him not to follow her; because it is shameful for a man to follow a woman. A man of his tribe screamed at him: Divorce her; she was contaminated with a mental disorder and a disgrace to the tribe.

Upon entering his house, Zaynab met him smiling as usual and said to him:

I have great news for you.

Very sad looking, he kept silent.

Zaynab was amazed, why he is sad.

She said to him: my father is the last prophet sent by God; I believed in him and became a Muslim and so did my mother and my sisters and…

Abul-Aas interrupted her and said: why you did not tell me that you are going to change your faith?

She said: you know my father, was he a liar? Are not your people used to call him the honest and trustworthy man? Also, I am not alone. I have my mother, your aunt, embraced Islam and so did my sisters. Also my cousin Ali and….. (She mentioned some names of his relatives and friends) followed my father too.

He said: I know your father, he is not a liar, and he is not accused. But I do not like people to say that I belied my tribe and left my gods because of a woman. I am not going to change the faith of my forefathers. Do you understand my reason?

She said: certainly I do; you are not obliged to follow my faith although I wish you do. I will always be your sincere wife forever; I will stand beside you and will help you trustfully for all of my life.

Abul-Aas kept his faith.

Zaynab kept her faith and observed Islam.

And they both tolerated their faith’s contradiction and lived together as a happily married couple.

The Religious boycott

The pagans of Mecca boycotted the Muslims from engaging in any contracts with their non-Muslim tribes. For three years the early Muslims lost their wealth to the non-Muslims as they were unable to trade. Their health deteriorated as they were unable to purchase sustenance. They became outcasts of society, traitors to the proud pagan way.

By the time the ban was over, there was little time for Zaynab to rejoice.

Her beloved mother passed away

The Migration

The pagans of Mecca increased their violence against the Muslims day by day, and it was unbearable for the Muslims to live in Mecca under the pagans’ transgression and extreme violence.

The Prophet Muhammad ordered the Muslims to leave Mecca and to escape and immigrate to Al-Madina which is about 400 kilometers at the North of Mecca.

Upon hearing that, Zaynab went to her father and said: “O Messenger of Allah, Will you allow me to stay with my husband.”

The Prophet said: Stay with your husband and your children.

Zaynab stayed in Mecca with her family.

Another big emotional Problem

Then the Battle of Badr happened between the Muslims and the pagans of Mecca.

Abul-Aas decided to go with his tribe to fight the Muslims.

Zaynab was afraid and sad.

The result of the war, whatever it is, will be sad for her.

Her husband is against her father!

She kept crying and praying: O Allah, please do not let the outcome of this war hurting me! I am afraid of a day I lose my father or my children will be orphans!

Although the pagan Arabs were some1000 soldiers and the Muslims were some 300; however, the Muslims won the war.

Muslims captured Abul-Aas; he was one among many of the captives.

The Battle of Badr is over

Muhammad put all the captives in a prison; he treated all of them kindly and sent a message to Mecca that he would release the captives for ransoms.

Looking eagerly for the news of the war, Zaynab asked: what about my father?

They said: he won the war.

Zaynab thanked Allah from her heart, she was hiding her feeling because the people around her, the pagans, were hurt because of the war, many of them lost their fathers, brothers, relatives or friends or they had them captives and need ransoms for their release.

Zaynab then asked: what about Abul-Aas?

They said: he is a captive, send a ransom to the Muslims to release him.

Zaynab had nothing more valuable than her necklace.

The story of her blessed necklace

In her wedding, Khadija, her rich mother, gave her a great present. It was a valuable necklace. When Zaynab took off her necklace to give it to her husband’s brother, she remembered her died mother and her wedding!

She said to her brother in law: go give them my necklace to release Abul-Aas.

The Prophet was sitting collecting the ransoms and the prisoners were released one by one.

Then the Prophet saw the necklace.

The Prophet paled, this necklace belonged to his beloved wife, Khadija. The Prophet remembered the day she had given it to Zaynab.

He remembered his died wife, Khadija, and how was she very happy at the wedding of Zaynab.

The Prophet said: for who is this ransom?

They said: for Abul-Aas

The Prophet kept silent, his eyes were tearing, he was thinking about his daughter, Zaynab, and how much she suffered because of her faith.

The Muslims said: O Messenger of Allah! What is the matter?

The Prophet said: this necklace is my daughter wedding gift, I know what it represents for her, and it is the memorization of her beloved mother. She sent it as a ransom for her husband who is an honest man; he loves her, takes care of her and is very kind to her.

The Prophet then said: if you people want to take the necklace and release Abul-Aas, it is up to you. If you release Abul-Aas and send the necklace to her, it is up to you. O people! What do you think?

The Prophet’s companions said: O Messenger of Allah! We release Abul-Aas and send with him the necklace of your beloved daughter.

The Prophet Muhammad smiled, his eyes were tearing and he thanked his followers.

The freedom and Separation

The Prophet Muhammad said to Abul-Aas: here is Zaynab necklace, give it to her and tell her to keep her mother gift and never give it away again.

The Prophet spoke gently with Abul-Aas, to free Zaynab from her marriage, as by then, a revelation directed that she could no longer be married to a non-Muslim man:

”O Abul-Aas, Allah has revealed unto me that the marriage of a Muslim woman and a non Muslim man is unlawful. Would you let her to come here?”

Abul-Aas said: yes.

On the other hand, Zaynab knew that Abul-Aas is on his way to Mecca; she was very happy to see him again.

She said to him: Thanks to Allah to see you and to have you again; I have news for you, I am pregnant!

He was very sad. He told her what the Prophet said to him.

She said: then I will go to my father

He said: Yes, I promised him

She said: can not you change your faith and come with me

He was nervous and said: No

Her departure was heartbreaking.

As she left for Al-Madina, the men of her husband’s tribe became outraged that a woman of their clan was being transported to the Muslims. They had barely recovered from the vile defeat in Badr.

They mobilized a small troop to stop her from moving to her father. A pagan man galloped viciously and pointed in front of her carriage brandishing a spear upon Zaynab and her young kids. Zaynab fell from her camel and she had abortion of the baby that was budding within her.

Her brother-in-law, who was her lead reasoned with the men and turned the carriage to head back to Mecca.

Later on, her brother-in-law transported Zaynab and her kids by night where they safely arrived at Al-Madina to be reunited with her father.

Zaynab was finally able to live her life as a liberated Muslim, attending prayers with her family and working towards the betterment of a progressive society.

In Al-Madina, many Muslims wanted to marry her.

But she refused all of them.

Was she still in love with Abul-Aas?

The Second Reunion

After 6 years

The Muslims were instructed to sabotage trade caravans from Mecca that were travelling past Al-Madina. A caravan returning from Syria was captured. The merchandise and employees were captured; however, one man, among the captives escaped.

He made his way carefully to Al-Madina in the middle of the night, and there, He asked where the home of Zaynab is.

He knocked on the door. Zaynab let him in.

In all of his despair, he knew he could trust her.

She was very happy to see him again.

She thought that he finally embraced Islam and came to marry her and live with her.

He told her that he was troubled by the confiscation of many goods that were held in his trust as a result from barter trades in Syria. The people of Mecca trusted him and he needed to return the goods to their purchasers. He also feared for his safety.

She said: anyway you are welcome as the father of my kids. You are welcome as my cousin. Do not be afraid, I will protect you. Sit here and I will be back.

Zaynab left quietly for dawn prayers with her family members. She stood amongst the female congregation, in the front row, with her sisters. As she saw her father with a congregation of men, Zaynab waited for a moment of silence and cried out with all her heart, “O people, I give protection to Abul-Aas.”

In respect to her situation, that she is no longer his wife, her father hurried over to Zaynab. She repeated her message to the Prophet and he calmly reminded her “Receive him with all honor, but let him not come to you as a husband, for you are not his by law.”

The Prophet Muhammad then turned to his followers and beseeched them to have mercy upon his former son-in-law who was also his late wife’s nephew.

On the way to Mecca

Abul-Aas took back the goods that he possessed. Then he went to Mecca.

On his way to Mecca Abul-Aas said to himself:

What I am doing? For how long I will be stubborn? I know that Muhammad is trustful; for how long I will worship statues made of stones? Etc.

After returning the goods to Mecca, Abul-Aas said to the pagans of Mecca: Am I a debtor to anyone? They said: No

He said: then I want to tell you that I am a witness that there no god but Allah and Muhammad is his Messenger; I embraced Islam!

Abul-Aas made his way back to Al-Madina

He went directly to the Prophet Muhammad and said:

O Messenger of Allah! Now I am a Muslim.

The Prophet Muhammad was very happy to hear that.

Then Abul-Aas said: Would you allow me to have Zaynab again as a wife?

The Prophet Muhammad said to him: I have to take her permission first.

And Muhammad went to Zaynab and said to her: O my daughter, Abul-Aas wants to marry you.

Zaynab’s face became shyly red; she smiled and said nothing.

Muhammad knew her answer; he smiled too and went out.

They married and live together again.

They were an example of a very happily married couple.

Then one year later, Zaynab died.

The Prophet said at the time of her death: “She was my best daughter for she has suffered much in the path of Allah.”

For every moment after her death, Abul-Aas missed her a lot, and then he died after her death by one year.

Guys get a bad rep for not being sensitive enough, but would you believe me if I said that they tend to have the hardest time getting over a breakup? What’s more, studies have shown that men fear breakups more than they do rejection.

When meeting a girl for the first time, there’s no bond in place, making rejection not so bad. In contrast, the attachment most men develop with their girlfriends makes adjusting to a breakup extremely difficult.

While she may seem sweet, when your girlfriend breaks up with you, her true colors will shine. It’s even harder when you’re dumped out of the blue, leaving you scratching your head in confusion. There’s no surefire means of preventing a breakup, but there are steps you can take to get over a girlfriend faster.

1. Take her off her pedestal:

She’s just another person, no matter how much you disagree. Begin severing yourself from her by throwing out any and all mementos of her, including presents and pictures. Get a buddy to help you if you can’t do this by yourself. Find solace in knowing that, with time, your tender feelings towards her will dull. In the meanwhile, stop worshipping the ground she walks on.

2. Stop talking to her:

A lot of guys have difficulty with this, but it’s paramount. Don’t go anywhere you know she spends a lot of time at, and erase her number from your phone. The same applies to the Internet: no email, Facebook, or other social-networking sites. If she contacts you instead, don’t pick up. I know this sounds hard to do, but remember that she broke up with you. If, after dumping you, she blows up your inbox, she’s just teasing you. Don’t let her.

3. Don’t suppress your emotions:

As men, we were raised to never cry or whine, but there are moments in life when it’s unhealthy to bottle up our feelings. When a girl dumps you, you’re more than entitled to feel upset, and that’s when friends and family come in. Take the time to go out with your buddies, and talk it out with them. You’ll feel so much better once you do.

4. Dodge her:

If you see her across the room at a social event, look the other way. You’re not acting bitter…you’re protecting your dignity. If she approaches you, be cordial, but nothing more. Approaching her will be the same as picking the scab off of a wound, never allowing it to heal.

5. Don’t be childish:

If you’ve given her gifts during your relationship, let her keep them. Not only is it childish to do so, but once those gifts are within your possession again, you’ll only start thinking about her.

6. Don’t hibernate:

Life isn’t over because you got dumped. By rejoining the living, you’ll only feel better. Occupy your mind with other activities, and sooner than later, you won’t even think about your ex. Take charge of your mind, and refocus it in healthier ways.

Final Thoughts

Every guy gets dumped, but not every guy knows how to deal with it. With a few simple steps, you’ll be well on your way to recovery. It’s all about your state of mind, so keep things positive. Before you know it, a new and better love will come.

The Graduates of Muhammad School, (1) Jaafar

Jaafar was Muhammad’s cousin

Jaafar was the son of Abu Talib (the uncle of the prophet Muhammad).

Abu Talib was a poor man and had to support a big family; that is why Jaafar was raised by his uncle, Abbas.

When he became a young man, Jaafar left his uncle Abbas and got married to Asmaa.

Jaafar and Asmaa were among the very first persons to embrace Islam, and as a result they both suffered greatly at the hands of the Quraish.

Quraish was the tribe to which the prophet Muhammad belonged. Quraish was the dominant tribe of Mecca upon the appearance of Islam; however, it was the tribe that led the initial antagonism to the spread of Islam among the Arabs.

The Quraish restricted the Muslims’ movements and freedom. Day by day, the pressure that Quraish put on the Muslims has worsened until they could not bear it anymore.

That is why Jaafar went to the Prophet Muhammad and took his permission to immigrate to Ethiopia along with a small group of Muslims.

This was one of the Religious asylums in Islamic History

At this time, the Negus, the Emperor of Ethiopia, was a very just Christian King. The Ethiopian people used to love and respect him very much. The custom of the people to show their respect to the Negus was to prostrate themselves to him.

Jaafar and Asmaa settled down in this new land under the protection of the Negus, and for the first time since they had become Muslims they knew the meaning of freedom and could worship Allah without any hindrances.

However, Quraish would not let them enjoy freedom and peace for long; soon they sent some pagan Arabs in order to negotiate with Negus and get all the immigrated Muslims back to Mecca.

The pagan Quraish took a lot of presents to the Negus, which pleased him very much, and they prostrated themselves to the Negus and then they told him that there is a group of evil wicked men moving about freely in his country and asked him to capture them before they cause any harm to his kingship as they did in Quraish.

But the Negus refused to do that until he calls them and questions them regarding the pleas of Quraish.

So the Negus asked the group of Muslims, to come and meet him.

The Muslims came on and chose Jaafar to be their spokesman.

The Muslims stood in front of the Negus and they did not prostrate themselves unto him.

The Quraish said: O Negus, they do not prostrate themselves unto you.

The bishops around the Negus ordered the Muslims to prostrate!

Jaafar said: we do not prostrate ourselves to anyone but to Allah.

The Negus, who was impressed by this brave Jaafar, asked: your people say that you are evil and made trouble in your tribe Quraish.

Jaafar replied: this is not the case; they came on here to take us back because we changed our religion and embraced a new one.

The Negus asked: “what is this religion that has cut you off from your people, and made you in no need of our forefather’s religion”..?

Jaafar summarized the teachings of Muhammad to explain their situation; he said:

“O King! We were living in ignorance, idolatry and immorality.

We honored no relative and assisted no neighbor.

The strong among us exploited the weak.

Then God sent us a prophet, one of our own people whose descent, conduct and good faith and morality we are all well acquainted.

He called us to the unity of God, and taught us not to associate any other being with him. He forbade us the worship of idols which we and our fathers used to worship.

He commanded us always to speak the truth, to remain true to our trust, to love the relatives and to be good neighbors.

He commanded us to honor our promises, to be kind to our relations, to cease all forbidden acts, to abstain from bloodshed and to avoid obstinacies and false witness.

He forbade us to slander the virtuous women or consume the property of the orphans.

He ordered us to fly from vices and to abstain from the evil, to offer prayers, to give alms and to keep the fast in the month of Ramadan.

We believed in him; we followed him.

Our people, however, persecuted us and sought to bring us back to idolatry and their other abominations.

As they made life intolerable for us in Mecca, we chose your country and came here to live under your protection in peace.”

The Negus was eager to know more about what Jaafar said, and so he asked Jaafar to read him a part from what Muhammad brought concerning Allah.

Jaafar recited for him the first portion of Surah of Maryam (Saint Mary- Chapter 19 of the Quran) which narrates the story of Jesus and his mother Mary.

Upon hearing that Surah, the Negus was moved and the bishops around him began to weep.

The Negus said that he will never harm them and will not give them to Quraish.

However, two of Quraish emissaries did not stop at that, they went again to the Negus, who was Christian, and told him that the Muslims say that Jesus is a slave, and asked him to call them and ask them what they think of Jesus.

The Negus called the Muslims and asked them, what do you say about Jesus?

Jaafar answered him saying, “Our Prophet Muhammad says that Jesus is Allah’s prophet.”

The Negus gave back the gifts to Quraish and refused to deliver up the refugees so the pagan Arabs left oppressed and frustrated and the Quraish returned to Mecca discomforted.

Jaafar and Asmaa spent about ten years in Ethiopia, which became a second home for them. There, Asmaa gave birth to three children.

Finally, Jaafar and his family together with a group of Muslims left Ethiopia and went to Al-Madina.

On their arrival, the Prophet Muhammad was very happy to see them.

Muslims in general and especially the poor among them were as happy with the return of Jaafar as the Prophet Muhammad was. And quickly Jaafar became a well known as a person who was much concerned with the welfare of the poor.

It is said that there was a great resemblance between Jaafar and the Prophet Muhammad, both in his appearance and ethics. Muhammad called him, “The father of the poor”, because he used to help and support the poor with all he has of money.

Who is Allah? (2)

Many People do not know their Almighty Creator, Allah.

In this series of articles, the reader will find the real ID of Allah as presented in His Holy word, the Quran chapter (Surah) by chapter.

What verses 2:19-22 say about Allah?

The verses say that:

1) Allah encompasses the disbelievers and hypocrites, in both knowledge and power, so they cannot escape Him; i.e. He knows them and will gather them in Eternal Hell.

2) Allah is able to do all things; He has power over all things that He wills.

3) Allah has created us just as He created those who came before us.

4) So do not set up rivals to Allah.

——————————————–

Verse 2:19 says:

… And Allah encompasses the disbelievers and hypocrites, in both knowledge and power, so they cannot escape Him; i.e. He knows them and will gather them in Eternal Hell.

Verse 2:20 says:

Truly, Allah is able to do all things; He has power over all things that He wills.

Verse 2:21 says:

O mankind!

Worship your Lord, declare Him as the only One God, Who has created you as different lineages beginning from a drop of sperm, just as He created those who came before you, so that you may ward off His wrath and torment and obey Him.

In other words, profess the oneness of your Lord Who created you, who made you when you were nothing, and created those that were before you; so that you may be fearful, of His punishment by worshipping Him

Verse 2:22 says:

He Who has created for you, the earth for a couch, like a carpet that is laid out, neither extremely hard, nor extremely soft so as to make it impossible to stand firm upon it; and Who has created for you, heaven for an edifice, like a roof; and sent down from the heaven water, wherewith He brought forth, all types of, fruits for your provision;

So do not set up rivals to Allah

Do not say that Allah has peers, different forms or coequals (when you know) that He is the Creator of all these things.

It is also said that (when you know) means: when you know from your own scripture that Allah does not have a son, coequal or peer.

It is also said that (when you know) means: while you know that He is the Creator that you create not and that only One that creates can be Allah.

So do not set up compeers to Allah, that is partners in worship,

———————–

Verses 2:19-22 (Shakir translation)

Verses 2:19

“: …and Allah encompasses the unbelievers” (in his guidance, his omniscience and his omnipotence).

Verse 2:20

“: … surely Allah has power over all things”

Verse 2:21

“O men! Serve your lord who created you and those before you so that you may guard (against evil)”.

Verse 2:22

“who made the earth a resting place for you and the heaven a canopy and (who) sends down rain from the cloud then brings forth with it subsistence for you of the fruits; therefore do not set up rivals to Allah while you know.”

I read this <noindex> news </noindex>on Hindi newspaper. Though HIV is an increasingly thriving menace in our society; little thought is spared for children who suffer after their parents fall victim to it. For no fault of their’s, they are left to face the extreme bitterness of living with the disease. With treatment options expanding, issues about their future get more complex. Sneha Care Home (SCH) stepped in to address these issues. Started on July 14, 2008, SCH and Shining Star School address multiple issues of children infected with HIV, as well as prepare them for a productive and constructive life.

“Now with treatment options increasing dramatically, the life span of HIV-infected have also gone up, making us think of their future too,” says Fr Mathew Perumpil, director of Sneha Care Home. “When they grow up and become sexually active, they become potentially dangerous in transmitting the virus. Initially, we used to send our children to nearby schools. Once a teacher in the school noticed one of our boys growing intimate with a girl from his class and alerted us. We were totally unprepared to handle such a situation. That is when we started this new venture with 20 children where they are given value-based education,” he adds. Now SCH houses 83 children who are below 12 years of age, including 34 girls. Most of them were orphaned due to the deadly HIV and many are with single parent. “We choose kids from houses where the environment is not conducive for their healthy growth. We take away the burden of bringing up the children from suffering families,” says Perumpil. Children are educated at the Shining Star School on their premises which ensures a good value system. The school, based on National Open School Curriculum, focuses on encouraging creativity and auditing the aptitude of these children. “We want them to enter a good profession which is less physically taxing and that will define their self-esteem to live a life full of hope and meaning,” says Perumpil. The tiny bundles of energy that run around here prove these points. With a smile on their lips and stars in their eyes, they are surging ahead in life. Ten-year-old Varalakshmi wants to become a nurse when she grows up. Ask her why: “I want to take care of others,” she quips. Puneet Kumar, 11, wants to be a farmer and is already willing to look after the vegetable garden at SCH. To ensure that these kids don’t miss anything in life, SCH sends them to foster homes for holidays. “We identify and screen the family before sending the children,” says Perumpil. With all the care and affection from SCH, these children are better equipped to face their future with a smile.

In the tribal benediction pronounced upon Judah and the tribe of which he was the founder, the term lion’s whelp symbolized strength. Therefore, the emblem on the banner of the Tribe of Judah was a lion. The same symbolism is found in Masonic ritual and has enjoyed several philosophical and theological interpretations.

To our Christian brethren, the phrase “Lion of the Tribe of Judah” refers to the Messiah, who is said to have brought light and immortality into the world. To our Jewish brethren, Judah was the fourth son of the patriarch Jacob and represents the fourth point discussed in ancient Freemasonry. Both Kings David and Solomon are also said to have descended from the Tribe of Judah. However, there is a more ancient usage of the lion’s paw that may have application to the Masonic mysteries.

Candidates who successfully passed the Mithraic initiations were called Lions and were marked upon their foreheads with the Egyptian cross, or ankh. Throughout the entire Mithraic ritual references were made of Mithra as the Sun God, who came to earth to offer himself as a sacrifice for man and by his death giving men life eternal. After initiation, the candidate was hailed as one who had risen from the grave and was permitted to learn the secret Persian mysteries that originated with Zarathustra.

Although popularized by the Romans and the belief that at least one Roman Emperor was initiated into the order, the Rites of Mithra was of Persian origin and later migrated into Southern Europe. “Mithra” is the Zend-Avesta title for the sun and he/she dwelled within that orb. Mithra was both male and female and, as a deity, represented the “feminine principle.” That phrase has been more recently popularized in the work of fiction by Dan Brown entitled The Da Vinci Code. However, as opposed to representing the Holy Grail, as did Mary Magdalene in Brown’s work, the female side of Mithra represented Nature while the male side represented the sun that bathed Nature so that flora and fauna would grow. With this understanding it is easier to also understand the connection between Freemasonry and the Rites of Mithra.

In a Masonic symbolism book, Masons are taught that sacred Pythagorean geometry connects man to nature by teaching him about its most concealed recesses; how things in nature are connected; and that numberless worlds surround mankind which the Great Architect of the Universe has connected through the laws of nature. It is correctly stated that a survey of nature first caused man to study symmetry and order which led to the discovery of every useful art. Freemasonry also teaches that the Supreme Intelligence pervades all nature and which is further described in the book of Revelation as the Sea of Glass.

The <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview(‘/outgoing/article_exit_link’);” href=”http://masonicbooks.heisner.info/articles-about-freemasonry/grip-of-the-lions-paw/”>Masonic Symbolism Book</a> Rites of Mithra also gave Freemasonry the symbolism of the lesser lights, i.e., the sun, moon and Mercury (later replaced with Master of the lodge). That symbolism is intended to explain the natural order of hierarchical authority – as the sun rules the day and the moon governs the night, so should the Worshipful Master, with equal regularity, rule and govern the lodge. Yet, even with such pervasive evidence of the Mithraic influences on Freemasonry, what is the significance of the grip of the lion’s paw?

Those initiated into the Mithraic mysteries passed through three important degrees. In the first degree, the candidate was taught about his own spiritual nature which must be manifested through disciplined conduct. In the second degree, the candidate was instructed that he represented the mediator between good and evil, light and darkness and was sent into a dark pit to wage battle against the beasts of lust. Finally, in the third degree, he was provided a cape with designs of the zodiac, including the sign of Leo, which represented a lion. The candidate is said to have risen from the grave by the power generated from the sun’s influence on Leo – or the strong grip of the lion’s paw. In that other Mithraic symbolisms are found in Masonic symbolism, the possibility that this symbolism also originated from those rites cannot be ignored. Yet, even so, what is the symbolic importance to Masons?

Mithra derived from the teachings of Zarathrustra which taught that good and evil existed in the world side-by-side. Masons are taught by one of its “ornaments” that human existence is checkered with good and evil. Real life experiences prove that to be so – the battle between good and evil was vividly on display during the Second World War, as well as during the course of other well known conflicts. The Rites of Mithra also teach that eventually good will prevail over evil, as symbolized by the energy of the sun rising each day in the east. It is said that that great orb is enabled to rise because of the strength of the Leo residing in its orbit – the grip of the lion’s paw!

As Freemasons pass through the three degrees necessary to finally achieve the status of Master Mason, they become starkly aware that the Craft demands of them a participation in exercises intended to make them morally straight – good soldiers for the cause of good in the conflict between good and evil, light and darkness. Symbolically rising from the tomb of transgression, the candidate is at last acknowledged as being sufficiently prepared to exemplify goodness to the rest of the world. Whether or not he makes as good use of those tools as have Master Masons in ages past is strictly up to the individual candidate. He may choose goodness or evil, light or darkness; and in so doing either creates the temple wherein the Supreme Architect of the Universe will reside, or the tomb into which evil will eventually be cast.

The Freemason who knows why he was raised will never, never, never die. He was not raised by falsehood and chicanery – he was raised by the grip of the lion’s paw.

When a man discovers bumps on his penis it is cause for alarm. Often, being self conscience he will refuse to go to the doctor. Not only is it embarrassing and unattractive, but a million questions start going though his mind. What is it, where and how did they get there, is this a STD, can I have a normal sex life?

Pearly Penile Papules (PPP) are small dome-topped bumps on the penis that have a color similar to the skin perhaps a bit lighter. They are located on the head of the penis and run in one or more concentric rows. This skin condition typically occurs most frequently in men from 20 to 30, but can affect males of different ages. It is not uncommon for them to become less noticeable with age. PPP is harmless with no malignant potential. They can create discomfort and sensitivity.

Pearly penile papules are not contagious and they are not an STD. In fact they are pretty common. It is a condition commonly confused with genital warts. Additionally, there is evidence that this condition is not genetically transmitted. Ok, now that it is known what they are, you are probably curious to know how they got there. The truth is that those little bumps are produced by the mans body, more accurate by the skin. They are in no way related to sexual activity or bad hygiene. However, there is still no clear evidence what causes the body to produce them. Therefore, it is difficult to predict their arrival.

This annoyance can be removed by laser treatment. However there are risks associated to the procedure, potential scarring and possible adverse affects of the normal function of the penis.
